Pathways to Creative
Youth Work
KA1 - Mobility of Youth Workers
OPEN CALL FOR PARTNERS
A Two-Activity training project realising a systematic approach to developing creative youth work and understanding progression towards working with young people through the arts.
Beasily is applying for a training course called “Pathways to Creative Youth Work” for the October 2024 deadline.
If you are interested in being a partner please complete the partner form by the 1st August 2024
What is “Pathways to Creative Youth Work”?
How do we become youth workers? How can we use creativity, the arts and being proactive in our youth work to work with young people? How can we become more creative in our responses to the challenges in youth work? Does your organisation have ideas for arts-based youth projects but no idea if you have the skills to do them? How can your organisation develop the skills to support staff on the next Youth Exchange? How can your organisation develop the habits that will help you to improve your youth work practice?
If these are some of the questions facing your organisation, your volunteers, young leaders and youth workers then ‘Pathways to Creative Youth Work’ could be the answer. If you know people who:
- are looking for that next step towards becoming a youth worker
- want to integrate their creative skills into their youth work
- want progression routes within your organisation
- want to gain a greater awareness of creativity and the arts in youth work
- want to experience and better understand non-formal educational methods
This long-term (two-activity) training project aims to offer a platform for developing and understanding the following:
- the principles of generic youth work
- the practice of youth work specifically using the arts and creativity
- an awareness of youth work principles and practice
- a pathway of accreditation and badge based learning influenced by Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, called ‘Creative Youth Work’. This will also include other opportunities including youth work competences and Youthpass.
- an exploration of the opportunities Erasmus+ offers to apply these competences
- a range of experiential learning opportunities, non-formal educational approaches and a wealth of creative youth work theory and practice.
Objectives:
- To develop a greater understanding of the transferrable creative and artistic skills applied to youth work
- To generate experiences for participants using these skills
- To explore and understand the skills, knowledge and attitudes of youth work
- To gain a greater awareness of youth work theory and practice
- To identify and realise creative youth work experiences and opportunities
- To follow a range of recognition pathways
- To explore the opportunities for realising their youth work potential through Erasmus+
We are looking for twelve partners from programme countries who will each identify and select participants from our identified target group including: young adults, those new to youth work, ex-beneficiaries of Erasmus+ (either youth exchanges or ESC) and young people looking to step-up a level from youth leadership.
NOTE: Participants need to be available for both activities
